The San Francisco Redevelopment Agency ("SFRA") plans to apply for up to $25,000,000 in Neighborhood Stabilization Program-2 funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The application due date is July 17, 2009. If awarded, SFRA plans to use the funds as gap financing for the construction of approximately 106 units of rental housing affordable to households earning up to 60% of Area Median Income on Parcels 52 and 54 in Hunters Point Shipyard, census tract 606. Parcel 52, which borders Fridell Street, between Jerrold and Kirkwood, and Parcel 54, which also borders Fridell Street, between Innes and Hudson, are approved sites for affordable housing in the Hunters Point Shipyard Redevelopment Plan. SFRA staff informed the Hunters Point Shipyard Citizens Advisory Committee of the pending application on June 8, 2009.
